His phone hasn’t stop ringing. Once we got into the 6th round it was better that Kellen go undrafted and here is why. Kellen is now officially a free agent and trust me there are many teams out there that need QB’s that didn’t draft one, from the Detroit Lions to the Pittsburg Steelers all have a need for a Backup QB and failed to fill that need. Kellen will now be able to not only negotiate a deal of value and security he will be able to select amongst the teams that approach him that he feels will give him the best chance to succeed and advance.
However nice it would have been to hear Kellens name be called and see a 7th Bronco be added to this draft all the Bronco’s that are working for a free agent contract and or a camp deal their draft begins now and unlike their drafted brethren they will have some say in where they go.
While not everyone one of them will get as many teams as some calling you can be sure Chase Baker (while writing this Chase signs with the Vikings), Aaron Tevis Kyle Efaw, Cedrick Febis. Tyler Shemaker, Byron Hout , Jarrel Root and Kellen will all be in camps come late summer.( while righting this I received info from a trusted source that Kellen Moore Choose the Detroit Lions as his new team)
While I know many are bitter trust me when I say Kellen isn’t he’s too busy dealing with all those calling and sucking up to him on why they didn’t take him in the first place. Kellen and all the other great players of the class of 2011 are moving forward while some of us fail to take in the great event that has just occurred. Six Boise State players just went in one single NFL draft! Let that sink in SIX!!! That’s on the scale of Alabama and other great power houses.
This has been a glorious 3 days for Bronco nation don’t let your predigest and anger cloud the fact that the NFL just loudly proclaimed Boise State delivers NFL talent in a Major way. In three days the class of 2011 doubled the amount of first round draft picks. With the third round selections of Tyrone Crawford a loud message was sent out to Junior college players, come to Boise State and you have a fair shot at the NFL as you consider Winston Venerable who went undrafted yet made the Chicago Bear team now Joined by Shea Mc Clellin the 3rd Bronco ever drafted in the first round and now with Tyrone’s 3rd round pick by the Dallas Cowboys.
Before Sunday is done there will be Bronco’s thru out the NFL fighting for their spots on NFL teams following in the footsteps of those that have blazed the path before them, and with it I for see massive sales of NFL Sunday ticket in the Boise era as Bronco Nation households will face the hard decision in which NFL team to watch to see their beloved Bronco’s playing on Sunday.
When Titus Young was drafted by the Lions last year I dreamed of future match ups with the Jets and Kyle Wilson, it won’t be long now with this great influx of Bronco’s into the NFL we will be enjoying pairings of Bronco D lineman facing the Like Bronco players on the other side of the ball.
I thought I should cut this short as things are breaking faster than a Verlander Split finger fast ball.
Bronco Nation Grows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jarred Root to the Miami..
Aaron Tevis to New Orleans
Tyler Shoemaker to Tampa to join Dougie.
Still waitingon the others.
Can't believe that Kellen didn't get drafted - still say that he's the most accurate QB that the Dawgs have faced, ever! Good point, however, about it being better for a player to go free agency rather than 6th or 7th round. I'm a Dolphin fan and would enjoy seeing KM compete in South Florida. Much better that guys like him are on your side!
Ok, it's true that I don't follow the Broncos much, but had to admire/respect the way the Boise players GATA (Get After Their/our Arses).
One final thought: Six players in the NFL draft is great, indeed... But Alabama had 8 draftees and UGA had 7 players drafted. On the other hand, Auburn Tennessee had 1 each ;-) ;-)
@GoBigDog Long Time time no see .. you guys had 7 Drafted outstanding. I for see a great future for Kellen and not all of it on the field. Certainly he'll get some game time it's the nature of the beast like I said at the freep last night the Lions in a couple years will be where the 72 Dolphins were . It took 2 great QB to my that undefeated team go. Some other things to consider in 4 Years Detroit is going to have a serious cap problem just goes with having so many #1 drafts panning out one has to wonder if given Kellen 3 to 4 years to develop might be a hedge against being unable to retain Mathew when that time comes.
